报告摘要:Highly anisotropic 2D nanosheets of layered inorganic solids (metal oxides, layered double hydroxides, metal chalcogenides, metal carbides, metalnitrides,and carbon nitrides) have evokedgreatdealofresearchactivity because of their unique physicochemical properties and outstandingperformancesasfunctionalmaterials. A great diversity in the chemical compositions, crystal structures, and defect structures of inorganic nanosheets provides this class of materials with a wide spectrum of physical properties and functionalities. The inorganic nanosheets can be used as powerful building blocks for exploring high performance hybrid catalysts. Since the crystal defect and interfacial interaction have profound influence on the electrochemical and catalytic activity of hybrid materials, the energy functionalities of 2D inorganic nanosheet-based hybrid materials can be greatly enhanced by defect- and interface-engineering. In this talk, several classes of 2D inorganic nanosheets and their nanohybrids applicable for renewable energy technology will be presented together with the discussion about the relationship between chemical bonding nature and functionalities. The crucial role of interface/defect engineering in optimizing the energy performances of 2D nanosheet-based materials will be highlighted.

报告人简介:Seong-Ju Hwang教授现任韩国延世大学Underwood讲席教授。于2001年获得法国波尔多第一大学博士学位,随后在美国密歇根州立大学从事博士后研究工作。Hwang教授主要从事二维无机纳米材料的合成及其在光电催化、能源存储和环境净化等方面的研究。目前, Hwang教授已在Sci. Adv., Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Energy Environ. Sci.等国际权威学术刊物发表学术论文330篇,专利118项。Hwang教授曾获得韩国XAFS学会学术奖, 韩国化学会学术奖,韩国浦项光源中心科学奖及韩国科学技术部长官奖等奖项。此外,Hwang教授曾任韩国化学会副会长,韩国光科学会会长,现任韩国化学会材料化学分会会长。
